Copper

Copper is established in many applications. This material owes this to its eminent conductivity of heat and electricity.

Copper layers become covered with a red-brown or black oxide layer in the air very quickly, that further gets discolored conspiciously green, cyan to dark blue under the effect of humidity. These oxide layers are very stable and protect copper against further corrosion.

Typical fields of application for galvanic copper surfaces:

- intermediate layer for Nickel on steel surfaces

- bearing surface for rotating parts

- decorative elements in architecture

- installations for drinking water, heating & gas
